Anemone species
The Windflowers are ubiquitous plants of the Dempster Highway, with five, perhaps six species being found in the Ogilvie and Richardson Mountains. Of these, probably the most graceful is Anemone narcissiflora (photos on the right) with its bright white blossoms while the most spectacular is undoubtedly the glowing purple, Anemone multiceps (centre). The yellow flowers of Anemone richardsonii are commonly found throughout this area and in places this anemone is found in quite large stands. White flowered Anemone parviflora is shown bottom left.
