Androsace ciliata

Androsace ciliata is a delightful plant with clear pink flowers set off by attractive light green foliage.  It is only found in the west central Pyrenees at high elevations and grows at only a few locations.  In Alpine Plants of Europe, Jim Jermyn notes that Androsace ciliata can be found on limestone above Gavarnie although it is more often found on acidic formations. On the trail from Port de Boucharo we only found Androsace ciliata on sandstone talus.  We did not find any specimens on the nearby limestone outcrops.
